Do we need to book a table in advance?
We strongly recommend it. Tables go three to five days in advance, sooner on weekends. Saturdays are quietly full a fortnight ahead. For a first visit, we suggest Tuesday or Thursday.
Is there parking?
Private guest parking is available in the Castellum courtyard. Mention it at the door, the entrance is covered. For larger parties and private events, parking is arranged separately.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The Castellum courtyard entrance is at street level, the main room is step-free, and the Diplomatic Room has its own access. Please mention any special requirements when booking so we can choose the best table.
What's the dress code?
Smart casual. Jacket or smart shirt for men, casual-elegant for women. Tracksuits and sportswear are not appropriate. For private events and the Diplomatic Room the dress code may be lifted by agreement.
Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?
We do. Several starters and pasta dishes are vegetarian (marked on the menu). Vegan or stricter adaptations are prepared on request. Flag any allergy or dietary preference at booking or in the note.
Are children welcome?
Children are welcome. We have high chairs. Smaller portions of classics (pasta, fish fillet) can be prepared by arrangement. The atmosphere is quieter after 21:00, so we recommend an earlier sitting for younger guests.
Can I bring my dog?
Small dogs are welcome in the courtyard and on the terrace by arrangement. In the main room, service animals only.
Does Gallo hold a Michelin star?
Gallo is listed in the Michelin Selection 2025. This is a recommendation by the Michelin Guide, distinct from a Michelin Star. We held the Bib Gourmand in 2022. We follow Michelin's methodology throughout.
Do you offer a tasting menu?
A tasting menu is available on request, we adapt it to the season and your preferences. Please ask at booking, at least 24 hours in advance.
Can I bring my own wine (corkage)?
By arrangement, with a corkage fee. Our cellar runs to more than a hundred labels. Often we have the bottle you're looking for, or a better one. A short conversation with the sommelier usually settles it.
Do you host private events and weddings?
Yes. The Diplomatic Room seats up to twelve for meetings and lunches. The whole courtyard and main room can be reserved for closed events, weddings and corporate dinners. Write to info@gallorestaurant.hr or see Private rooms.
What's the price range?
Starters: €15 to €25. Pasta: €26 to €35. Fish: €85 to €125 / kg depending on the species. Meat: €35 to €42. Desserts: €8 to €11. Couvert (bread, oil, water): €4 per person. Per head, expect €60 to €120 depending on your choice of fish and wine.
